Tom Siino , CPA-CA

Tom is the Managing Principal for the Northern California region including the operations in San Francisco, Walnut Creek and San Jose, overseeing engagements in all practice areas and service lines.  Tom brings a comprehensive background in both staffing and public accounting to the company.  He has spent the last 10 years in the staffing industry where he has been responsible for client development and the placement and recruiting of senior-level accounting and finance professionals.  Prior to that he spent 19 years in public accounting where he was a partner in the assurance practice at both Grant Thornton and Hood and Strong (a Northern California accounting firm).


His staffing industry experience includes 5 years as Vice President for Nelson & Associates where his leadership enabled the company to start up the Senior Consulting Services practice.  His Senior Consulting Services practice achieved profitability within the first six months, won the division of the year award in his second year and had significant growth in revenue, gross profit, and contribution each subsequent year.   Tom also was the Director of the San Francisco Bay Area based AC Lordi legacy company A4C for 5 years.  Tom’s responsibilities in public accounting incorporated a wide variety of areas including client development and retention and staff development and retention.  His responsibilities also included monitoring the overall conduct of the engagements and projects in his client ledger, as well as billing and collecting for work performed.  Tom attributes a large part of his professional success to the loyalty he has obtained from his clients, consultants, staff and network of professionals, many of which have followed him throughout his career.


Tom is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of St. Mary’s College of California, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in May 1980.  He also holds an MBA degree in Finance from The California State University – Hayward and holds a CPA license in the state of California.  He currently serves as a board member and Treasurer for CompassPoint Nonprofit Services and was a member of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area and its predecessor, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the East Bay, for over 15 years before stepping down in 2007. He is an active member of the California Society of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants and the AICPA.
